International College Counselors was born out of the frustration experienced by friends and family of Mandee Heller Adler, the founder and partner, as they tried to help their children navigate the often confusing college admissions process.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School, recipient of a Rotary International scholarship to study at ICADE, a leading business school in Madrid, Spain, and recipient of approximately US $ 60,000 scholarships, Adler was the point of contact Person for supporting the examination of study and scholarship applications, the writing of essays and résumés and the selection of the best universities. When friends told their friends about their students' college acceptances, Adler decided to use their personal expertise and knowledge to start a company that would help the students through the stressful process.
In 2004, Adler founded International College Counselors Providing Expert Admission Strategies to Colleges, Graduate Schools, Business Schools, Law Schools, Medical Schools, Dental Schools, and other postgraduate schools. Adler's first client was taken in Dartmouth. Since then, Adler has hired partner Barry N. Liebowitz and a team of seasoned college advisors around the world who have helped thousands of students get into the schools of their dreams.
International College Counselors has set a new standard in student counseling through a one-on-one approach. With competition for college and university acceptance at an all-time high, International College Counselors Consultants have found this to be the most effective way to maximize a student's potential. A one-on-one interview also allows the counselors to get to know each student. his strengths, weaknesses and passions; and his or her family. This holistic assessment gives college counselors the insight they need to match individuals with the best schools possible. Consultants at International College Counselors have attended over 200 colleges and universities together. They have experience working with students from all backgrounds, including Ivy League students, student-athletes, arts majors, international students, students with special needs, and students who are first in their families to go to college.
Student services include creating detailed plans for coursework and extracurricular activities. Identification of colleges that the student will apply to and attend; Creating test plans and exploring test preparation strategies; Preparation for interviews and campus visits; Advice on essays and résumés; Review, provide feedback and empower college applications; Exploring the objectives, strategies and options of the grant. Students usually start International College Counselors around 9th or 10th grade, but other students have started as early as 7th grade.
International College Counselors consistently receives high marks from consumers, schools, and educators for expertise to meet the needs of students who may not otherwise get into the best school for them. The company was the official college advisor to the Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton for five years. Consultants work with students from over 20 states and 30 countries via phone, Skype, and national and international visits. The counselors communicate with the students and their families in English and Spanish, depending on the client's preference.
