The following steps only apply to the following programs:

  • Office Professional Plus 2019
  • Office Standard 2019
  • Visio Professional 2019
  • Visio Standard 2019
  • Project Professional 2019
  • Project Standard 2019

To download and install your Office 2019 software or application, do the following:

The screenshots below are examples that may not match your own experience.

  1. Navigate to https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=49117 and select Download from.

  2. Select the arrow next to the option Save as out.

  3. Create a new folder and save the file in that folder. (The name of the folder is irrelevant. For example, create a folder on your desktop called Office.)

    Note

    This folder should be a shared location that can be accessed for installation on other devices.

  4. Double click on the. EXE file (or choose Execute if the dialog box is still open). When asked, select Yes off.

  5. The Microsoft Software License Terms are displayed in a pop-up window. Check the box and select Next.

    Note

    You may be asked to choose a location to save the files to. If so, select the folder you created.

  6. Open your browser and go to https://config.office.com.

  7. Choose Under Create a new configuration the Create option out.

  8. Choose Under Products and Versions select the 64-bit option.

  9. Then select the product or app that you want to deploy and choose Continue out.

  10. Select your language, then choose Continue out.

  11. Choose Under installation options select the options that meet your needs (or do nothing) and select Continue out.

  12. Choose Under Update and Upgrade select the options that meet your needs (or do nothing), and then select Next out.

  13. Choose the Multiple Activation Key (MAK) option out. Enter the software specific volume license key, move the Autoactivate slider on A, and then select Continue out.

    Note

    If your organization uses Key Management Service (KMS) activation, select KMS Client Keys instead.

  14. Enter your name or the name of your company or organization, and then select Continue out.

  15. Choose Under application settings the option Finish off.

  16. Choose You export in the upper right corner of the page.

  17. Give in the text field File name "Configuration" (if you don't already see it), then select Save as to save it in the folder you created.

    Note

    Make a note of this location as required for the following steps.

  18. Open an elevated command prompt. (Choose the Windows button from, enter "CMD", right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator out.)

  19. Enter "cd" (c + d + space bar). Copy the file path of the location where you downloaded the file and paste it into the Command Prompt window.

  20. Choose Input from. The prompt line will now be updated to the location where the files were downloaded:

    Note

    It depends on where you created the folder for the downloaded file.

  21. Copy and paste the following command into the Command Prompt window and select Input from:

    Set up / configure configuration.xml

  22. The Office installation will start.

Activate Microsoft Office 2019 using a product key

If automatic activation didn't work, you can activate your software manually by following these steps:

  1. Open a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file. Choose file out.

  2. Choose You help or account out.

  3. Choose You change product key.

  4. Enter the product key in the field, and then select Install from.
    The Office installation begins.
