How healthy is castor oil for your hair

Castor oil for the hair: this is how it becomes long and supple

Castor oil has been used as a beauty all-rounder for centuries. It is considered a growth booster for eyelashes, eyebrows and hair. The rich, golden oil is obtained from the seeds of the so-called tropical wonder tree.

However, castor oil is not quite that miraculous, because its effect is relatively easy to explain. It contains fatty acids and vitamin E, which nourishes both the skin and our hair. When applied to the skin, castor oil has anti-inflammatory effects and is said to help against wrinkles. In the hair, the oil ensures that it looks well-groomed and that it is less likely to break off.

Unlike other oils, castor oil is not sticky or cumbersome. This is one of the reasons why it is so popular with beauty gurus. We reveal what castor oil can do and how you can use it in your hair.

Why is castor oil good for hair?

Cold-pressed castor oil has several positive effects on the hair. It donates a lot of moisture, strengthens the hair, nourishes it and gives it a silky shine. Castor oil also ensures that our hair is less brittle and breaks off - this makes it appear longer and thicker. The same applies to the eyebrows and eyelashes as it does to the hair.

Castor oil is suitable for almost all hair types. It closes the roughened hair structure and forms a kind of protective layer so that the moisture in the hair is not lost. In addition, the oil also cares for the scalp and stimulates hair growth. It does not contain any chemical ingredients and is free from parabens or silicone, which is why you do not have to worry about the ingredients.

How do I use castor oil for hair?

There are several ways you can use the oil. If you want to use it quickly, you can simply add 2 drops of the oil (depending on the length of your hair) to the ends and lengths of your hair. If your hair is prone to very dry and damaged hair, we recommend one Hair treatment with castor oil close.

This is how it works:
Comb your hair well and wash it with a mild shampoo. Gently towel dry hair, but do not rub. Now warm up the oil either in a water bath or in your hands. This will help it penetrate the hair later.

Now you put a towel over your shoulders and begin to distribute the oil in your hair. Start at the top and then work your way up. Once at the top, you can massage the remains of the oil into your scalp. This stimulates hair growth and also helps against dandruff.

Finally, go through the hair again with a wide-toothed comb or a Tangle Teezer (here on Amazon *) so that the oil really hits every hair. Be careful with this because your hair is very sensitive when it is wet.
